Let's continue our Budapest sightseeing tour, shall we?:) So we saw Heroes' Square (if you haven't, see it here), and then the bus took us over the long Chain Bridge to gigantic Buda Castle. There are a lot of pretty parts within the majestic Buda Castle, but definitely the most wonderful part for me was Matthias Church. No surprise here, as this church is considered one of the prettiest churches in Budapest and one of the most unique religious buildings in the whole Europe!
Matthias church is a Roman Catholic church. Originally it was built in
11th century and re-built in 15th century in recognizable Gothic
style (I guess that's the reason why I like this church, as I've always considered Gothic architectural style to be pretty amazing). Its founder was King Stephan of
Hungary, yet it was named after King Matthias who changed one of the
main towers in 19th century.
Unfortunately this was a quick and short sightseeing tour, so we didn't
have enough time to see the interior of the church which is equally
beautiful (I saw some photos on the Internet)! But I'm so glad for being
able to personally admire this marvelous architecture in front of me!
No joking, I even think I could spend all day there photographing
church's colorful roof and ivory-colored "lacy" ornaments!
Bez sale, mislim da sam cak mogla provesti i citav dan fotografisuci sareni krov crkve i spoljasnje "cipkaste" ornamente u boji slonove kosti!
