Ios is an island in the Aegean Sea that belongs to the Cyclades, and is located halfway between Naxos and Santorini. It has an area of approximately 109km2, which makes it bigger than Santorini, but not as populated...
As with most Cyclades islands, the main city carries the name Chora. Painted in white, with narrow cobbled streets that have the form of the stairs. A lot of cafes, bars and pubs, restaurants and taverns, some boutiques and souvenir shops. But mostly all work after 6-7pm... why? Because Ios is a "party island", and everything is open till the early (not to say late!) morning hours in peak season. That's why Chora is empty during the day, you don't see any tourists or locals,
not a soul, people sleep in their rooms... or they simply decided to continue to party at the beach...
Ios je ostrvo u Egejskom moru koje pripada Kikladima, i nalazi se na pola puta izmedju Naksosa i Santorinija. Povrsine je oko 109km2, sto ga cini vecim od Santorinija, ali ne i naseljenijim...
Kao i kod vecine kikladskih ostrva, glavni grad nosi ime Chora (Hora). Okrecen u belo, sa uskim kaldrmisanim ulicama stepenicaste forme, po kojima su "rasuti" kafici, barovi i pabovi, restorani i taverne, poneki butici i prodavnice suvenira. Ali vecinom sve radi nakon 18-19h... zasto? Zato sto je Ios "ostrvo zabave", i sve je otvoreno do ranih (da ne kazem kasnih!) jutarnjih casova u glavnoj sezoni. Tako da je Hora prazna tokom dana, ne vidite ni turiste ni lokalce, nema zive duse, ljudi spavaju u svojim sobama... ili su prosto odlucili da nastave zabavu na plazi...

Between 9am and 9:30 in the morning... We're eating our breakfast and
watching the sea in the distance, and in front of us stretches calm water in the
pool... Clear sky without clouds says it's gonna be a nice and sunny day...
And I'm happy if they have grilled eggplants for the breakfast, which I could
eat every day until I start to look like an eggplant.:D If not then
there is an omelet with vegetables, and it's enough! I'm already going in the direction of towels and straight to the beach or by the pool...
Izmedju 9h i 9:30 je ujutru... Doruckujemo i gledamo na more u daljini a ispred nas se prostire mirna voda u bazenu... Cisto nebo bez oblaka kaze da ce biti lep i suncan dan... A ja sam srecna ako za dorucak imaju peceni plavi patlidzan, to bih mogla jesti svaki dan dok se i sama ne pretvorim u patlidzan.:D Ako ne onda je tu omlet sa povrcem, i meni je dosta! Vec krecem po peskire i pravac na plazu, ili pored bazena...

On the eastern side of Ios island is located
Kalamos beach, surrounded by the rocks that are randomly decorated
with olive and almond trees. Untouched nature, peace and quiet, crystal clear waters, super soft golden sand. Disorganized in terms of tourism, with no bars and sunbeds, which in this case may be an advantage...
Only "difficulty" is how to get to this beach. Due
to the somewhat demanding part of the road that is very bumpy and dusty, as
the vehicle is best to use a jeep or four-wheel motorcycles which can be
rented in the town...
Na istocnoj strani ostrva Ios nalazi se Kalamos plaza, okruzena stenama koje su ponegde ukrasene stablima masline i badema. Netaknuta priroda, mir i tisina, kristalno cista voda, zlatan pesak u koji noga uranja. Neorganizovana u turistickom smislu, bez barova i lezaljki, sto u ovom slucaju moze biti i prednost...
Jedina "poteskoca" jeste kako doci do ove plaze. Zbog pomalo zahtevnog dela puta koji je izuzetno neravan i prasnjav, kao prevozno sredstvo najbolje je koristiti dzip ili motore na cetiri tocka koji se mogu iznajmiti u gradu...

This was our first suite in "Liostasi hotel & spa". Also
the suite where we stayed the longest, before we started
changing the rooms (4 in total) because of our stubborn desire to extend the stay despite the overbooking... And so we began with the number 55...
"Deluxe suite" is the apartment of two levels with outdoor private "lounge" space. One
day we also spent in the room number 54 which belongs to the same type of suite and it totally looks the same as the room 55 (the only difference
that I found was a wooden table in the ground floor which had a slightly

Ovo je bio nas prvi apartman u "Liostasi hotel & spa". Takodje i apartman gde smo ostali najvise dana, pre nego sto smo poceli da menjamo sobe (4 ukupno) zbog nase tvrdoglave zelje da produzimo boravak uprkos prebukiranosti hotela... I tako smo krenuli sa brojem 55...
"Deluxe suite" je apartman iz dva nivoa sa spoljasnjim privatnim "lounge" prostorom. Jedan dan smo takodje proveli i u sobi broj 54 koja pripada istom tipu apartmana i potpuno je istog izgleda kao i soba 55 (jedina razlika koju sam ja pronasla je drveni sto u donjem delu koji je malo drugacijeg oblika)... I share these pictures with you, not because of the food, but because
of the extraordinary beauty of the environment that surrounds the tavern called "Drakos". Located at the end of Mylopotas beach, which
is about 5min away from the capital Chora, at the perfect place where
you can see the whole beach...
Delim ove slike sa vama ne zbog hrane, vec zbog izuzetne lepote okruzenja taverne pod imenom "Drakos". Locirana na kraju Milopotas plaze koja je nekih 5min udaljena od glavnog grada Hore, i to na savrsenom mestu odakle se pruza pogled na citavu plazu....

Here we spent our first afternoon on the island of Ios. We arrived around 3pm and all the sun loungers by the main hotel's pool were busy. Fortunately, there was another option- private pool that is allowed only to the guests of "Liostasi" hotel who are staying in suites on two levels, and there are a total of six. We
left our suitcases, put swimsuits, and until the evening we were peacefully soaking up
the sun by the pool...
Ovde smo proveli nase prvo popodne na ostrvu Ios. Stigli smo oko 15h te su sve lezaljke pored glavnog hotelskog bazena bile zauzete. Srecom postojala je jos jedna opcija- privatan bazen koji je namenjen samo gostima hotela "Liostasi" koji odsedaju u apartmanima na dva nivoa, a njih je ukupno sest. Ostavili smo kofere, obukli kupaci i sve do veceri upijali sunce pored ovog bazena...
