Here we spent our first afternoon on the island of Ios. We arrived around 3pm and all the sun loungers by the main hotel's pool were busy. Fortunately, there was another option- private pool that is allowed only to the guests of "Liostasi" hotel who are staying in suites on two levels, and there are a total of six. We
left our suitcases, put swimsuits, and until the evening we were peacefully soaking up
the sun by the pool...
Ovde smo proveli nase prvo popodne na ostrvu Ios. Stigli smo oko 15h te su sve lezaljke pored glavnog hotelskog bazena bile zauzete. Srecom postojala je jos jedna opcija- privatan bazen koji je namenjen samo gostima hotela "Liostasi" koji odsedaju u apartmanima na dva nivoa, a njih je ukupno sest. Ostavili smo kofere, obukli kupaci i sve do veceri upijali sunce pored ovog bazena...

I love to write about Greece, about all the places I visit, the
hotels where I stay, and with a big pleasure I share the pictures on the blog. But equally I like to read what others think

Volim da pisem o Grckoj, o svim mestima koja obilazim, o hotelima u kojima odsedam, i sa zadovoljstvom delim na blogu slike sa ovih prostora. Ali podjednako volim i da citam sta drugi misle o ovoj mediteranskoj zemlji koja iz godine u godinu privlaci ogroman broj turista iz razlicitih delova sveta. Sta vise kao bivsi turisticki radnik i vodic uvek sam i vise nego zainteresovana za ponude turistickih agencija vezane za suncanu Grcku...

Before our trip, I suggested that this time we will visit two islands. First was Ios, and the second one was our favorite Santorini!:) However the last
time we were in Santorini was two summers ago (as we chose to visit Mykonos last year) and this year we noticed a big difference that we frankly
didn't like... Santorini is a beautiful island, yet its soul was always
comprised of the people who visit it. The atmosphere in the air and the energy that tourists carry always give that unique mark to any place. But as the
composition of the people who visit the island drastically
changed in the last two years, that specific energy started to gradually fade... Luckily we spent only two days on the island, so I still carry nice
memories...

Pre naseg putovanja, nagovestila sam da cemo ovoga puta posetiti dva ostrva. Prvo je Ios, a drugo je nama omiljeni Santorini!:) Elem zadnji put smo bili na Santoriniju pre dva leta (jer smo se prosle godine odlucili za Mikonos) i ove godine smo uocili veliku razliku koja nam iskreno receno nije prijala... Santorini je predivno ostrvo, ali su njegovu dusu uvek cinili ljudi koja ga posecuju. Ta atmosfera u vazduhu i energija koju turisti nose uvek daju unikatni pecat bilo kom mestu. Ali kako se sastav ljudi koji posecuju ostrvo drasticno promenio u poslednje dve godine, i ta specificna energija je polako pocela da bledi... Srecom proveli smo samo dva dana na ostrvu, te i dalje nosim lepe uspomene...
Ove slike sam podelila preko Instagrama, a vise o hotelu u kojem smo boravili i nasim aktivnostima citacete u narednom periodu...

I'm back, finally! I missed the blog so much, I missed everyday posting, yet I gave myself the right to completely enjoy my "blog break". The result is a bunch of a new material, a creative boom and charged batteries!
Although
I wasn't posting anything on the blog, I was active on Instagram (as I
promised), so today you can see a recapitulation of all the pictures from
Ios that I shared there. And much more about the vacation you will hear in the coming days!
Vratila sam se, konacno!! Nedostajao mi je moj blog, nedostajalo mi je svakodnevno spremanje postova, ali sam dala sebi pravo na potpuni "blog odmor". Rezultat je: gomila novog materijala, kreativni uzlet i napunjene baterije!
Iako nisam nista postavljala na blogu, ipak sam bila aktivna na Instagramu (kao sto sam i obecala), tako da danas mozete videti rekapitulaciju svih slika sa Iosa koje sam tamo podelila. A vise o samom odmoru cucete narednih dana!
The name of the hotel "Acheloides" comes from the mythical mermaids or better to say nymphs, who were born in the river of this region called Acheloos (also Achelous, Aspropotamos). Three
sirens were very close to Persephone (the daughter of the god Zeus and
Demeter; wife of Hades; queen of the underworld), and when the god of
the underworld Hades kidnapped Persephone they turned into birds in order to
find their loved friend...
The interior of the hotel is completely in the harmony with the external appearance. Rooms
with wooden flooring that nostalgically creak when walking,
traditional wooden furniture, fireplaces, hand-woven carpets and rugs give a true antique look, and the slightly dimmed lighting in the entire
hotel adds to the romance and mysticism...
Ime hotela "Acheloides" potice od mitskih sirena iliti nimfi koje su rodjene u reci ovog predela koja se zove Acheloos (takodje Achelous, Aspropotamos). Tri sirene su bile vrlo bliske Persefoni (cerka boga Zevsa i Demetre; zena Hada; kraljica podzemnog sveta), i kada je bog podzemlja Had oteo Persefonu pretvorile su se u ptice ne bi li lakse pronasle svoju obozavanu prijateljicu...
Unutrasnjost hotela je u potpunom skladu sa spoljasnjim izgledom koji ste mogli videti u prethodnom postu. Sobe sa drvenim podovima koji nostalgicno skripucu kada hodate, tradicionalan drveni namestaj, kamini, rucno tkani tepisi i cilimi daju pravi starinski izgled, a prigusenost svetla u citavom hotelu pridodaje romantici i misticnosti...
Surrounded by high mountains and hidden among the greenery of trees in the place Kalliroi, at 1040 m. of the altitude is a hotel called "Acheloides". It consists of three main buildings, and has a total of 24 rooms and 6 suites. Rustic
atmosphere that emanates from this hotel is the result of a traditional
building style which uses mainly wood and stone, and it is typical for this mountainous
region...
In mid-August we sought the refuge from a daily work in the shop and the summer heat, exactly in this hotel. Although
we only spent there one entire day (two nights)- that was enough to breathe some
fresh mountain air and to recharge our batteries. And also to catch a bit of sun by the pool, because the sea we'll "see" us now in September!

Okruzen visokim planinama i skriven medju zelenilom drveca u mestu Kalliroi, na 1040 m. nadmorske visine nalazi se hotel "Acheloides". Sastoji se od tri glavne zgrade, i ukupno ima 24 sobe i 6 apartmana. Rusticna atmosfera kojom odise ovaj hotel je rezultat tradicionalne gradnje od drveta i kamena koja je tipicna za ovaj planinski predeo...
Sredinom avgusta potrazili smo beg od svakodnevnog rada u radnji i letnje vrucine bas u ovom hotelu. Iako smo otisli samo na jedan citav dan (dva nocenja), i to je bilo dovoljno da se nadisemo svezeg planinskog vazduha i da napunimo baterije. A ujedno i da malo pocrnimo pored bazena, jer ce nas more tek sada u septembru videti!
