Today we're finishing our small tour around the island Skiathos by boat, as this is our last stop! Although I stayed only 4 days on this island, it certainly seems like I stayed one month if judging by the number of photos and posts I've prepared for you!:D Organization is a miracle, but let's go back to our trip...
Tsougkria island is an abandoned island, which administratively belongs to Skiathos, and therefore to the Sporades. Lush greenery, wild untouched nature, beautiful beaches, crystal clear turquoise water are the main "culprits" why Tsougkria (although without inhabitants) is extremely popular during the summer season! It has one small beach bar covered with reeds, where you can find refreshment from the heat and regain strength after long swimming and sunbathing, 'cause honestly speaking- these are the only options on the island! And quite sufficient!

I sasvim dovoljne!

Kastro beach is located below the medieval fortress with the same name, which I talked about yesterday. The
beach is relatively small, both sandy and rocky, with scattered
stone slabs that give it a special charm because they completely fit
into the natural environment. It is located some 13km north of the town of Skiathos, and the easiest is to reach it by boat.
And
while I was climbing dusty and steep path to the fortress Kastro- smart people were taking bath on this beach!:) But if I haven't followed my "adventurous instinct" you wouldn't see most of these pictures!;)
It's time to continue our journey around the island of
Skiathos by boat... Our next stop is Kastro, fortress located in the
north of the island, dating from the middle of 14th century. Due
to the constant pirate attacks, the population was forced to build a safe place to live, so the people of Skiathos used the hill that is a natural fortress. Until the middle of 15th century, Kastro was
under Byzantine rule, then under Venetian, and after that the Turks
ruled here until 1821. From 1830 it officially belongs to Greece.

Next stop in our trip by boat was famous Lalaria beach, which is
perhaps the main reason I agreed to this trip!:D It can be reached
only by boat, as the high and steep cliffs block the beach and thus prevent the access by land. Strange experience these rocks offered me- as I was lying on the beach and watched the sky it seemed to me that
the whole beach along with the cliffs was moving and not the clouds... I started to get dizzy at one point...
Lalaria is a beach known for
its white and smooth pebbles (which locals call "lalaria" so the place is named after that), the enchanting light turquoise water, choppy waves caused by
the winds from the north. The winds which are sometimes so strong that you can only dream of access to the beach. And one big rock with a natural passage (or we can simply say: the "hole") for
which is believed that you will become younger if you swim twice through the
passage. I did not swim that day so I skipped the opportunity
to become "younger and sweeter", but the images of nature that takes your
breath away- will forever remain in my memory...
And here begins our little adventure by boat. On the way to Lalaria beach is one of most photographed attractions called "Dark Cave", or in Greek "Skotini Spilia". Beautiful
sea cave with a low and narrow passage where only small boats can pass,
is about 20m deep and as its name implies very dark. We did not have enough time to enter the cave, but we approached close enough to indulge in this natural beauty...
I ovde pocinje nasa mala avantura brodicem.
Another mix of photos, before we finish this journey with the series of posts under the name "Trip around Skiathos"... We leave tomorrow by boat- please feel free to join me, you'll pay nothing!;)
