"Grandma's" restaurant, which is a part of "Liostasi hotel & spa", is one of the places on the island of Ios, that is
generously recommended to the tourists, especially when it comes to dinner.
Actually, exclusively when it comes to dinner as the restaurant works after 7pm...
"Grandma's" is located within the hotel where we
stayed at. In the morning the breakfast is served here
(more about that in this post). And up to 7pm there is another menu based on the lighter meals which can be served to hotel guests, so many
people decide to have a lunch here, especially when they spend the day by the pool. For example two times in the late afternoon I ordered my favorite
food- grilled eggplants.
Anyway, I wanted to show you the look of the restaurant before opening at 7pm, while it's still lit by
the sun that slowly sinks behind the horizon...
"Grandma's" restoran, koji je deo "Liostasi hotel & spa", je jedno od mesta na ostrvu Ios koje se velikodusno preporucuje turistima, narocito kada je vecera u pitanju. Zapravo i jedino kada je vecera u pitanju jer restoran radi tek nakon 19h...
"Grandma's" se nalazi u okviru hotela u kojem smo odsedali. Ujutru se recimo ovde sluzi dorucak (vise o tome u ovom postu). I sve do 19h casova postoji drugi jelovnik koji se bazira na laksim jelima koja se mogu servirati gostima hotela, te se mnogi odlucuju da rucaju ovde narocito kada provode dan pored bazena. Ja sam recimo dva puta u kasnim podnevnim casovima rucala moje omiljeno jelo- grilovane patlidzane.
Elem htela sam da vam pokazem kako restoran izgleda pred samo otvaranje u 19h, dok je jos obasjan suncem koje polako tone iza horizonta...

It seems to me that nowadays pools in all the best hotels in the world are the exquisite attraction! Quite often the look of the pool is also one of the major factors when deciding which hotel you will book (I know that's the case with me), especially during the summer
holidays...
"Liostasi hotel & spa" has a pool that is suitable both for adults and children. Around the pool there are wooden chairs with chic black cushions and black umbrellas. There are additional wooden chairs that are usually a favorite place for watching the sunset. And
for extra refreshment there is always a pool bar but these photos I'll show you another time... And today you can see what the hotel pool looks like!
Cini mi se da su u danasnje vreme bazeni svih boljih hotela u svetu izuzetna atrakcija! Vrlo cesto izgled bazena je takodje jedan od glavnih faktora kada odlucujete za koji cete se hotel opredeliti (znam da je to sa mnom slucaj), narocito tokom letnjeg odmora...
"Liostasi hotel & spa" ima bazen koji je prilagodjen i odraslima i deci. Oko bazena su rasporedjene drvene lezaljke sa sik crnim jastucima i crnim suncobranima. Postoje i dodatne drvene stolice koje su obicno omiljeno mesto za posmatranje zalaska sunca. A za dodatno osvezenje uvek je tu pool bar cije cu vam slike pokazati drugi put... After a three-day stay in Santorini, we went back to Ios and
of course once again chose "Liostasi hotel & spa". In this apartment, which is the room number 56, we spent only one night, but even that was enough to take some photos for the blog...;)
"Liostasi suite" (just like "Deluxe suite"), is a two level suite with a sea view. Together with the other five suites on two levels it shares the private pool (more on that here)...

Nakon trodnevnog boravka na Santoriniju, vratili smo se na Ios i naravno ponovo se odlucili za "Liostasi hotel & spa". U ovom apartmanu tj sobi broj 56 smo proveli samo jedno vece, ali i to je bilo dovoljno da prikupim neke slicice za blog...;)
"Liostasi suite" (kao i "Deluxe suite") je apartman na dva nivoa sa pogledom na more. Zajedno za ostalih pet apartmana na 2 nivoa deli privatan bazen (vise o tome ovde)...

Mylopotas beach is by far the most famous beach on the whole island of Ios! Many people even consider that it's one of the top 10 beaches in Europe. It is about 1km long and 2km away from the capital Chora. It has the shape of a horseshoe, a delightful sand and crystal clear water.
The beach is well organized from its beginning till the end, with numerous sunbeds and umbrellas. This of course means that you'll find a lot of cafes, bars, taverns and restaurants. One of these places is "Far Out" beach
club which is always crowded since this bar is only a small part
of the whole complex "Far Out" (hotel, hostel, villas, camping...)!
Milopotas plaza je ubedljivo najpoznatija plaza ostrva Ios! Cak je mnogi smatraju i jednom od 10 najboljih plaza Evrope. Duga je oko 1km i udaljena neka 2km od glavnog grada Hore. Ima oblik potkovice, divan pesak i kristalno cistu vodu.
Plaza je odlicno organizovana citavom svojom duzinom, sa bezbroj lezaljki i suncobrana. To naravno znaci da cete ovde naici na brojne kafice, barove, taverne i restorane. Jedno od takvih mesta je i "Far Out" beach club koji je uvek krcat s obzirom da je ovaj bar samo jedan deo citavog kompleksa "Far Out" (hotel, hostel, vile, kamping...)!
Chora
Archaeological excavations show that Ios was inhabited since
the early Cyclades period (3200-2000 BC), which is actually a period
that is known worldwide as the early Bronze Age. The
best-known site on the island is Skarkos, where they found the remains
of buildings that were reaching up to 3m in height, numerous pottery and
tools made of metal, stone and bone.
Another
interesting fact is that Homer's mother was from Ios, even the tradition claims that Homer himself was buried here. Physical
evidence for this claim does not exist, but the locals proudly show
one tomb dedicated to Homer, which is located in the north of the island
in the ancient city named Plakotos...

Arheoloska iskopavanja pokazuju da je Ios bio naseljen jos od ranog Kikladskog perioda (3200-2000 p.n.e.), sto je zapravo period koji je u svetu poznat kao rano bronzano doba. Najpoznatije nalaziste na ostrvu je Skarkos, gde su pronadjeni ostaci zgrada koje su dosezale i do 3m u visinu, brojna grncarija i orudje izradjeno od metala, kamena i kosti.
Jos jedna zanimljivost je i ta da Homerova majka vodi poreklo sa ovog ostrva, cak je i prema nekim tvrdnjama i sam Homer sahranjen ovde. Fizicki dokazi za tu tvrdnju ne postoje, ali lokalci sa ponosom pokazuju grobnicu posvecenu Homeru koja se nalazi na severu ostrva u antickom gradu pod imenom Plakotos...

Perivolos beach is located in the south of Santorini, between Vlihada and Perissa. Extremely organized beach, with a large number of bars, cafes and tavernas. The winds that blow often make playful and stronger waves, which is great for the lovers of water sports! The water is clear and transparent, and the ground is a combination of fine gravel and sand in a dark gray (almost black) color. Therefore,
on this beach, you can not make even one step without slippers because you
will burn your beautiful feet, and I'm not joking at all.
We only had two days to go to the beach. The first day we chose "Chilli" bar since we were going there so many times. The other day we decided to go to "JoJo" bar which is located next to "Chilli", and that's a super cool place as well! These two beach bars are my recommendations if you find yourself on Perivolos beach, and below you can see how each of them looks like!!
Perivolos plaza se nalazi na jugu Santorinija, izmedju Vlihade i Perise. Izuzetno organizovana plaza, sa velikim brojem barova, kafica i taverni. Vetrovi koji duvaju cesto prave nestasne i snaznije talase, sto je odlicno za ljubitelje sportova na vodi! Voda je cista i prozirna, a podloga je kombinacija sitnog sljunka i peska tamno sive (skoro crne) boje. Zato na ovoj plazi ne mozete ni korak napraviti bez papuca jer cete opeci vasa lepa i negovana stopala, i nimalo se ne salim.
Mi smo samo dva dana imali za odlazak na plazu. Prvi dan smo se odlucili za "Chilli" bar jer smo tu poslednjih godina isli. A drugi dan smo izabrali "JoJo" bar koji se nalazi odmah pored "Chilli"-ja, i koji je takodje super mesto! Eto ta dva beach bara su moja preporuka ukoliko se nadjete na Perivolos plazi, a u nastavku pogledajte kako svaki od njih izgleda!!
