Somehow the best is always left for the end. So this short tour of Vienna city we ended with a visit to the famous Schönbrunn palace. The
beautiful baroque palace together with its gardens is on the
UNESCO list and it's the most visited tourist location of Vienna (in 2017 more than 3.5 million tourists visited the palace). I have already mentioned Schönbrunn palace, which is known as the summer residence of Austrian
rulers, when I wrote about the Hofburg palace.
Najbolje se nekako uvek ostavlja za kraj. Tako da smo i mi ovu kratku turu grada Beč završili posetom i obilaskom čuvene Schönbrunn (Šenbrun) palate. Predivna barokna palata se zajedno sa svojim vrtovima nalazi na UNESCO listi i najposećenija je turistička lokacija Beča (u 2017-oj godini je posetilo vise od 3.5 miliona turista). Ovu palatu sam već spominjala kada sam pisala o Hofburg palati, te sam napomenula da je Schönbrunn bila letnja rezidencija austrijskih vladara.
The official tour begins with a tour of the interior rooms, in a precise order. Usually there are two types of tours, "Grand" and "Imperial", and they differ in the number of rooms that are included in the tour. "Imperial" tour
includes 22 rooms where you can see for example the private
apartments of Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth called Sisi. "Grand" tour includes also the rooms (40 rooms) that date from the time of Maria Theresa, and for this tour you need approximately one hour. From all the rooms my favorites are Great gallery and Small gallery with mirrors and ornate golden decoration, which irresistibly remind me on the Palace of Versailles and The Hall of Mirrors... Of course taking photos isn't permitted inside, so no pictures this time...:)

započinje obilaskom unutrašnjih prostorija, po tačno odredjenom
redosledu. Obično postoje dve vrste tura, to su "Grand" i "Imperial", a
razlikuju se po broju prostorija koje su uključene u turu. "Imperial"
tura obuhvata obilazak 22 sobe gde se mogu videti recimo privatni
apartmani Franca Jozefa i kraljice Elizabete zvane Sisi. "Grand" tura
obuhvata i prostorije (oko 40) koje datiraju iz vremena Marije
Terezije, i za nju treba odvojiti oko sat vremena. Meni su od svih
prostorija u najlepšem sećanju ostale Velika i Mala galerija sa
ogledalima i kitnjastom zlatnom dekoracijom koje me neodoljivo podsećaju
na Versajsku palatu i njenu Dvoranu ogledala... Naravno slikanje unutra nije
dozvoljeno, tako da nema slika ovoga puta...:)
After visiting the interior of the palace, we decided to take a walk and see its well known gardens. Unfortunately it was a short walk because it was extremely cold. The rest of the free time we spent in a pleasant atmosphere of a cafe-restaurant "Residenz" drinking cappuccino and learning how they make the famous apple strudel...
Nakon obilaska unutrašnjeg dela palate, usledila je šetnja vrtovima. Doduše kratka šetnja jer je bilo izuzetno hladno. Ostatak slobodnog vremena proveli smo u prijatnom ambijentu kafe-restorana "Residenz" ispijajući cappuccino i gledajući kako se pravi čuvena štrudla sa jabukama...
Last day in Vienna, really really cold one. Officially the day planned for the visit of the imperial Schönbrunn Palace. Anyway
as we had to go by bus to a certain location, we were passing next to the
Belvedere Palace which is located in the third ring and fortunately
decided to stop for quick 15 minutes to take a few photos. I
say fortunately because it's such a beautiful sight. I can only imagine how
magnificent must be in the spring and summer when the fountains are working and the gardens are full of greenery and colorful flowers!
Poslednji dan u Beču, zaista zaista hladan. Zvanično i dan planiran za posetu carskoj Schönbrunn palati. Elem kako smo morali ići autobusom do odredjene lokacije, prolazili smo i pored Belvedere palate koja se nalazi u trećem cirku i srećom odlučili da svratimo na brzih 15 minuta da vidimo izbliza. Kazem srećom jer je predivan prizor. Mogu samo zamisliti kako je veličanstveno u proleće i leto kada fontane rade i kada su vrtovi puni zelenila i raznobojnog cveća!

On the first day in Vienna, after a short pedestrian sightseeing tour of Maria Theresa Square and the Hofburg palace, we had the afternoon off. Although it was cloudy and very cold (which I personally can not stand), there were some other buildings close to the first "ring" that I wanted to see, because each of them represents the symbol of the Austrian capital...
Some of them are: The Austrian Parliament Building inspired by the style of the ancient Greece with the statue of the goddess Athena; Rathaus building built in a distinctive and attractive Gothic style which is now the seat of the local government of Vienna; beautiful St Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom) also built in the Gothic style which is today the main Catholic church and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna... Prvog dana u Beču, nakon kratke šetališne ture i razgledanja Trga Marije Terezije kao i Hofburg palate, imali smo slobodno popodne. Iako je bilo oblačno i vrlo hladno (sto ja lično ne podnosim), postojale su jos neke zgrade i gradjevine u blizini prvog "ringa" koje sam htela izbliza da vidim jer svaka od njih predstavlja simbol austrijske prestonice...
Neke od njih su: zgrada Austrijskog Parlamenta inspirisana stilom antičke Grčke sa statuom boginje Atine; Rathaus zgrada sagradjena u prepoznatljivom i vrlo atraktivnom gotičkom stilu koja je sada sedište lokalne uprave Beča; prelepa katedrala Svetog Stefana (Stephansdom) takodje sagradjena u gotičkom stilu koja je danas glavna katolička crkva u Beču i sedište nadbiskupije... Just across the famous Maria Theresa Square (Maria Theresien Platz) which you could read about here, is a marvelous Hofburg Palace. This former imperial palace is one of the most important historical symbols of Vienna, and also the place where the Habsburg dynasty rulers were living during the colder periods of the
year. So this was their winter residence, while Schönbrunn palace was their summer residence.
Odmah prekoputa čuvenog Trga Marije Terezije (Maria Theresien Platz) o kojem ste mogli pročitati ovde, nalazi se raskošna Hofburg palata. Nekadašnja carska palata je jedan od najbitnijih istorijskih simbola Beča, gde su tokom hladnijeg dela godine živeli pripadnici i vladari Habzburške dinastije. Dakle ovo im je bila zimska rezidencija, dok su kao letnju rezidenciju koristili Schönbrunn (Šenbrun) palatu.
Hofburn palace was built in the 13th century, yet reconstructed so many times. It
is considered one of the largest palace complexes in the whole world, and
consists of many gardens, squares, monuments and buildings (around 18
wings)...
Hofburn palata je sagradjena u 13-om veku, i bezbroj puta do sada
rekonstruisana. Smatra se jednim od najvećih kompleksa palata u čitavom
svetu, i u svom sastavu ima brojne vrtove, dvorišta, trgove, spomenike i zgrade
(oko 18 krila)...
Among
the most visited and most popular parts of the imperial palace are: the
Museum Sisi dedicated to temperamental and authentic Queen Elizabeth, Imperial Library
(today the National library), the Albertina, the Church of St. Augustine,
the Spanish Riding School, Amalienburg (Amalia is the oldest residence),
the Court treasury, National Theater (Burgtheater)... And today here is
the official residence and office of the President of Austria.
Medju najposećenijim i najpoznatijim delovima carske palate su: Muzej
Sisi posvećen temperamentnoj i autentičnoj kraljici Elizabeti, Carska biblioteka
(danas Nacionalna bibilioteka), Albertina, Crkva Svetog Avgustina, Španska škola jahanja, Amalienburg (Amalija je najstarija rezidencija), Dvorska riznica, Nacionalni teatar (Burgtheater)... A danas se ovde nalazi zvanična rezidencija i kancelarija predsednika Austrije.
Unfortunately detailed tour of the Hofburg Palace was not planned, so
we just passed through the main external parts and continued our
pedestrian tour. Luckily I always manage to take pictures of the most important...;)
Na svu žalost, detaljnije razgledanje Hofburg palate nije bilo
planirano, tako da smo samo prošli kroz glavne spoljašnje delove i
nastavili našu šetališnu turu. Srećom ja uvek uspem da uslikam
najbitnije...;)
