Blue Scarabs-> GlamFabInspiration + Glam Chameleon Jewelry

Scarab, sacred beetle, is one of the most popular amulets in ancient Egypt, while a self-created Egyptian god in this form was called Khepri. Scarab is a symbol of rebirth, fertility, the soul and the sun. It can be seen in the decoration of Egyptian tombs, manuscripts, hieroglyphic works (often shown with solar disk over the heads), as well as a part of beautiful jewelry pieces- necklaces, bracelets, wrist cuffs, decorative collars... An example is the bracelet found in the tomb of Tutankhamun. It has been proved that some mummies had a scarab under their bandages that was placed on the chest in order to ensure the re-birth of the deceased in the next/other world.
** Blue scarabs used in making of Glam Chameleon Jewelry necklaces are the inspiration for today's post, and the whole story is fashionably completed with the runway looks from the spring-summer 2012 collections (Peter Som, Bottega Veneta, Luca Luca, Ungaro, Badgley Mischka ...).
